LEO is Vienna's oldest sausage stand.
In 1928, Leopold Mlynek Sr. founded Vienna’s first sausage stand. Later, even Chancellor Dr. Bruno Kreisky was among its patrons. Since 1991, Vera Tondl, née Mlynek, has been managing the business. In 1997, she renovated the stand, which has since been painted in turquoise and white. To this day, “LEO” remains a popular meeting place day and night!
The legendary Käsekrainer (cheese-filled sausage) is especially popular, particularly the giant Käsekrainer – the BIG MAMA! – for one to four people. This generous portion of over 0.5 kg of sausage is served on a tray, garnished with homemade sauces, bread, and savory side dishes. It’s a real hit at LEO.
Working with select local suppliers, LEO sausage stand prioritizes top quality and also offers vegan options. Our motto is: “From the very beginning, our passion has always been to serve the best quality so that everyone feels comfortable and enjoys the delicious food!”
